I created KaraSinger.com to share my love for singing and karaoke.  Join me on my adventures through home karaoke  parties, public performances, and even just singing at home by myself.

About

Our Story

I started singing in the church choir quite young.  Growing up, I remember a few public performances.  One in the fourth grade at a piano recital at my piano teacher’s insistence.  She thought I sang well, but when I heard the recording play back, I did not agree and was a bit horrified at how I sounded.  In the seventh grade, my chorus teacher thought I sounded great and convinced me to sing in front of the whole school.  I did get a few compliments, but felt they were just being kind.  At sixteen, I sang a song to my boyfriend once, and he said I sounded amazing and sang the song perfectly.  I figured he was just being kind too.

I loved singing, and even after leaving church choir and school chorus, I spent a lot of time singing in the car, quite loudly, and having a blast.  Eventually, I got a setup where I had a double cassette and could sing along with a song playing on the first cassette and record on the second one.  It had a voice removal feature that didn’t quite remove the voice but made it much quieter, allowing me to hear myself instead of the artist.  I cannot tell you how much time I spent singing and trying to get better.

I finally started online lessons in 2019 and found out how to breathe properly and learned about vowel modifications and taking care of vocal cords.  Wound up having to stop the lessons due to the events from 2020.

Now in 2022, I am getting back into singing and enjoying karaoke.  I hope you’ll enjoy it with me.
